Singapore
An advance party of Bambuco began site preparations on the 12th September at The Esplanade: Theatres on the Bay in Singapore. Sixty concrete blocks will form the base of "Shell" (our new installation), a structure larger than any we have attempted before. The full crew begin construction on September 24th with 11 Bambuco members from Australia, New Zealand,Netherlands, USA and Germany, and 6 local climbers from Singapore. Shell will become a focal site at the opening festival for the Esplanade from October 12th to November 4th 2002, with performances by Acrobat (Australia), Wrongsize (United Kingdom) and Ah Hock (Singapore) amongst others.
