Bambuco collaborated with outdoor arts company Walk the Plank on the concept for Reach and performed the project at the Greenwich and Docklands Festival in London and for Cultureshock, the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme. Bambuco's tour to the UK was funded by the Australia Council and Arts Victoria.
The performances of Reach in London and Manchester were highly successful and different to previous projects in their theatricality. They incorporated more mixed media than anything before, including large-scale pyrotechnics and performance vignettes. The projects included elements of community outreach, involving local groups in the production and performance development.
